Description:
The combination of amoxicillin and neomycin has an additive effect.
Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic broad-spectrum penicillin with
bactericidal action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
It affects Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, intestinal
bacillus, Erysipelothrix, hemoglobinophilic bacteria, Pasteurella,
salmonella, streptococci and penicillinase-negative staphylococci. Bactericidal
action is expressed in the suppression of the synthesis of the cell wall of bacteria. Neomycin
is an aminoglycoside with a bactericidal action against the main
Gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli, Klebsiella, bacterium
Pasteurella, salmonella and bacteria of the genus Staphylococcus.
Indications:
Treatment of clinical mastitis caused by susceptible to amoxicillin and
neomycin by microorganisms such as corynebacterium, E. coli,
staphylococci and streptococci.
Contra indications:
Hypersensitivity to amoxicillin and / or neomycin.
Use in subtherapeutic doses.
Appointment simultaneously with tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides and
linkosamides.
Administration to animals with serious impaired renal and / or liver function.
An overdose due to the very small safe limit of neomycin.
Side effects:
Allergic reactions.
Renal dysfunction, neurotoxicity and neuromuscular blockade.
Dosage:
For intramammary use:
Daily 1 injector for the sore part of the udder for a maximum of 3 days.
Before use, completely exude the udder, clean and sanitize
nipples.
Drug withdrawal time:
- For meat: 5 days.
- For milk: 3 days.
