Mycofix

Mycofix®

The decision to manage the risk of contamination with mycotoxins

The Mycofix® product line is a specially developed feed additive for the inactivation of mycotoxins in feed and animal health. Mycofix® is added to feed for poultry, pigs and ruminants, as well as fish and shrimp.

Mycotoxins are a pervasive problem

There are hundreds of species of mycotoxins that differ in prevalence and frequency of detection. And, as a rule, they do not act alone, which greatly enhances their negative impact due to synergism. This dictates the need to develop effective and targeted solutions in the control strategy for mycotoxins.
The science behind the Mikofiks® preparation

The key to effectiveness is the triple strategy of controlling the content of mycotoxins:
Biotransformation

The patented complex of specific enzymes of the line of biological components of Mycofix® has a unique mechanism for neutralizing the toxic effects of trichothecins, zearalenone, ochratoxin A and fumonisins due to a change in their molecular structure. During this biotransformation, non-toxic and environmentally safe metabolites are formed.
Adsorption.

Adsorption

Adsorbed mycotoxins, such as aflatoxins and ergot alkaloids, are selectively bound and neutralized in the gastrointestinal tract of animals due to the high-quality mixture of minerals contained in the Mycofix® product line. Such adsorption significantly reduces the bioavailability of the toxin.

Mycomix® production line BIOMIN, containing a synergistic complex of carefully selected sorbents, has the following effect:

  • guarantees maximum binding of mycotoxins with low additive content in feed
  • does not remove the necessary nutrients, vitamins or minerals from the diet, even at the highest recommended doses

Biological protection

Carefully selected extracts of plants and algae in Mycofix® with scientifically proven efficacy provide biological protection of the liver and immune system against the negative effects of mycotoxins.

Permit in the EU

Registration in the EU of a drug deactivating mycotoxins is, first of all, the legal basis for official recognition. This is a high evaluation of a high-tech product that has undergone a detailed test for efficiency and safety in accordance with strict European quality standards.

BIOMIN, a recognized world leader in the control and management of risks of mycotoxins, has extensive experience in scientific research on this subject, which allowed it to successfully obtain documents for registration in the EU on Biomin® BBSH 797 and the bentonite Mycofix® Secure product, part of the Mycofix product line ®. Currently, in the world practice, these are the only products with proven effectiveness in protection against mycotoxins, which have undergone a complete registration process and have received a final marketing authorization.
