Uteroiodum pills

Tablets are intended

for the prevention and treatment of inflammatory processes of the uterus after obstetric aid in complicated and pathological labor, the surgical separation of the afterbirth, abortion, and acute postpartum endometritis in cows. They have antiseptic, bactericidal, antifungal, antiprotozoal and antiviral effects.

Spectrum of action

Povidone-iodine, which is part of the drug, is an iodine in the form of a complex with its binding iodophor - polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). Povidone-iodine has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action. Highly active against gram-positive bacteria: Streptococcus spp. (including S. mutans, S. sangius), Staphylococcus spp. (including S. aureus), Bacillus subtillis; Gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia spp., Clostridium spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas spp., some fungi and protozoa.

Composition:

One tablet contains:
1.6 g of iodopovidone (0.16 g of active iodine), as well as excipients (magnesium stearate, talc)
and foaming base (sodium bicarbonate, tartaric acid) - up to 16 g.

Application:

For prophylactic purposes, 1 tablet is administered once immediately after separation of the afterbirth, abortion or obstetric aid. Due to the foaming basis of the drug after administration of one tablet, at least 700 ml of foam is formed, which ensures maximum contact of the active substance with the endometrium.

With the purpose of treatment, 1-2 tablets are introduced into the uterus twice with an interval of 24–48 hours; in special cases, the introduction is continued until recovery.

In the absence of liquid contents in the uterus, before the introduction of the tablet should be
100-150 ml of sterile liquid (boiled water).
